PKZIP is the most popular compression program for the PC. It can
compress many files comprising many megabytes of disk space, into one
file which uses merely a fraction of the space. This is ideal for the
web, because users can download an entire folder quickly. How it works
is basically an algorythm which looks for repetition in the code, and
substitutes a single character for each repeated string. In order to
open a zipped file, you need PKUNZIP, or an equivelant utility. Most
copies of Netscape come with PKUNZIP. On the Macintosh, Sutffit
Expander can unzip, if you install Dropstuff with Expander
